Many of you in the community my already know me, my name is Karla (Villa) Perez. I am lucky enough to be married to my high school sweetheart and we have the three beautiful children.
I recently gave birth to our youngest at the end of March. Shortly after I started experiencing shortness of breath and chest pains. I thought my body was just tired from staying up with a newborn, but the pain continued to progress. I finally took a trip to the ER and they started running some test and decided to do a CT. The doctor came in and told me they found a mass in my chest and that it could possibly be cancer. Almost two weeks later I was admitted into the hospital where I spent eleven days having my blood drawn daily, 103 degree fevers, a biopsy and so much more done. On June 1, 2018, I was diagnosed with B-cell lymphoma.
Since my diagnosis I have been given a lot of medication that has effect my vision, my hands and feet, my appetite, and just my overall being. Luckily I am about to start my first week of chemo and get my treatment going. Here is how you can help me. Even though I was able to get insurance, we still have to make costly copays for my hospital stays on top of trying to pay our monthly bills. Any donation made would go to towards paying for medical bills. We know the overall cost of my treatment and this would be a big help paying for it.
We have already been blessed with kind words, prayers, and support from so many family and friends. My family couldn’t say thank you enough to those have helped, continue to help, or those who decided to help.
