Hello World!!!

Some of you might know me, others don't. So I will start off by telling you a bit about myself.

I am your average teenager, (often moody) that is in love with the idea of love. I have much love for music, and I owe that to my grandpa. I have been playing the flute for the past 7 years. I was even a part of an AMAZING International Marching Band for 3 years that allowed me to travel to many parts of Mexico, and the United States. Now, I’m not one to toot my own horn, but I am also a straight "A" student. I’m highly involved with my school by participating in the schools leadership programs (ASB and PLUS), Student Government, and the yearbook club. I have also had the privilege to participate each year in the Road to College Program. My biggest aspiration is to attend Stanford University. But my biggest blessing is to have the best friends and family a girl can ask for.

The reason I started this account is because my school has given me the opportunity to travel to Washington D.C. When it was announced to me that because of my grades I was able to participate in the trip, my excitement was beyond anything! But shortly after knowing the details of the price, I became disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, I have the best hard working parents, but I knew this would be a burden for them. The trip will be for a duration of 7 days, including roundtrip airfare, hotels, food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and entrances to museums and all sorts of other Kool stuff. Wait for it, here comes the best part.... A TOUR OF THE WHITE HOUSE!!!!  OMG!!! :D

The $2,300.00 will take care of all the costs. Unfortunately, all of this money has to be paid by December 31st 2016. I know its such short notice, but I wasn’t sure if I would have the opportunity to go or not. I have been told by many to think positive about this, and that if I wish it, and dream it, then anything is possible. 

There are two reasons why going to D.C. will be a dream come true to me. One, I love the idea of traveling. I have never been on a plane before, and that alone is exciting! Just the thought of being across the nation gives me goosebumps! (The good kind). But the main reason is because of my love for history. I think I inherited this from my mother. She would literally much rather go to a HISTORICAL LANDMARK than go to an amusement park, or even VEGAS!!! But I must confess that i am the same exact way, knowing that I will physically be in a place where history has been written is beyond words.

I don’t even think I can find the right words to express how thankful I am and how exciting it is to know that there is a possibility for me to go to D.C.
