Karla Kicks Cancer!

Karla Jane Laforge is an amazingly talented artist who loves to give back to our veterans and their families, as well as her local community. She has spent her life using her role as a voting member of the National League of POW/MIA Families to help support our troops and account for our missing. In addition to her league service, she is also a member of the VFW post 1008 Ladies Auxiliary. There she founded the Clause Cause which helps our local veteran and civilian families in need during the holidays. 2019 was the 21st year for the event, and they successfully helped 53 families, including 98 kids. She is a strong warrior who has already faced Lyme’s Disease, and is currently fighting against MS. Her diagnosis of stage 4 metastatic breast cancer isn’t what she wanted, but she sure is ready to fight! Above all of these amazing qualities and examples of strength,  Karla is a dedicated and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, whom we cannot picture our lives without.    Karla has already had a round of radiation, and is currently getting ready to start chemo. In addition,  she is also preparing for the long road ahead that includes, multiple treatments and future surgeries.   We appreciate any and all donations as the cost for her travel and treatments are adding up at a rapid rate. We have smaller events planned, but wanted to start this for our friends and family who live near or far and wish to contribute. We can’t thank you all enough for the love and support you have and continue to show Karla and our family. Karla and her family are always the first to step up and help when others are in need, now it is our turn to step up and help them.
