Please help Karl and Grace get back on their feet

Hi all, I'm Amanda and I am fundraising for Karl and Grace Kiesewetter of Clinton, CT.

Grace was a nanny for my kids, helped me raise them and I consider her family. She and Karl were married in 2018 and he quickly became part of our family too.

After 5 years of marriage, this summer, Grace finally got to bring Karl to her hometown in the Philippines to meet her family. Unfortunately, when in the Philippines Karl contracted an amoeba and went into gastric distress. They had to cut their trip short due to his medical emergency. They flew home and Karl spent weeks at St Raphael's hospital where they did everything possible to treat him but in the end he needed to get a full colectomy. The surgery and recovery have taken their toll on Karl and he's also needed weeks of in-patient and out-patient rehab.

Karl's hospital stay, surgery and in patient rehab total over $200k and he will need to continue physical therapy and he has other medical essentials that are required after a colectomy.

Karl spent many years delivering propane but it is unlikely that he will be able to continue working like he used to. He's barely able to walk now and needs assistance to get up and down. This ordeal has been devastating to him in so many ways.

Grace and Karl need all the help they can get from the community. Anyone who knows them knows that they would be the first to help a friend in need. I hope together we can come to their aid and help them get back on their feet.
