On October 3rd, we were devastated to learn that, what was believed to be inflammation from a cold, turned out to be cancer. Kristen was diagnosed with Stage 2A Nodular Schlerosis Classic Hodgkin Lymphoma.
After 10 weeks of testing and three separate surgeries, Kristen began her first of eight chemotherapy treatments. Because of the nature of Kristen's cancer, a cancer of the lymph nodes directly affecting her immune system, she is unable to continue teaching. Illness of any type, especially the flu, could land her in the hospital.
We created this page as a way for those who have asked us how to help - medical bills at this time are our biggest need and we appreciate any help.
