Kathy was shockingly diagnosed with lung cancer in February of 2018. Kathy is currently trying to maintain her employment at Badger High School as a cafeteria worker, She was also driving a school bus but is currently on medical leave.

Kathy is married to Ronnie Sr. and they have 2 daughters and a son. Their oldest daughter Kelly passed away 5 years ago fro m Melanoma. Katelin is currently attending UW Rock County. Ronnie Jr. is a junior at Badger High School.
