Karina's Security & Healing Fund
Many in the archives/library community are familiar with the work Karina does in and for our community. In addition to being a librarian at Cornell, Karina is active in #CripLib. They create 'zines about librarianship and trauma as well as present about trauma informed librarianship. They advocate for radical vulnerability and openness about trauma, queerness, and disability in LIS and their voice is so important in our field.
Unfortunately, Karina's fellowship has come to an end. Karina has been job searching but COVID-19 has made it a hard time for academic librarians to be looking for positions. In addition, Karina is chronically ill. They need these funds, literally, to stay housed and stay healthy and alive.
We know this is a precarious time for all librarians but we believe this kind of mutual aid is critical for our community members. Please help however you can, including sharing this fundraiser, donating even a dollar or two, buying some of Karina's 'zines, or letting Karina know of any job leads you might have. Anything is truly appreciated. All funds will go directly to Karina for living and medical expenses. Thank you so much!
