My name is Karim Livingston, and I am a 16 year old junior at Cypress Creek High School in Orlando, Florida. I have been afforded an amazing, "once in a lifetime" opportunity. I have been selected to become a People to People Student Ambassador to the European Odyssey. With your help, this summer, I will join a delegation of 39 students my age on a 20-day educational traveling program that will help us learn and experience the history & cultures of France, Greece and Italy.
For 50 years, People to People Ambassador Programs have provided international educational travel programs conducted on all seven continents for students across the globe, with more than 20,000 Ambassadors traveling annually. This wonderful program continues to play a significant role in increasing global awareness, as one of the world's most recognized and respected educational travel providers.
Student Ambassador Programs are typically 14–23 days in length and feature unique activities for building independence and maturity, exclusive cultural moments to increase global awareness, community service and exciting destinations to foster a love for international travel and foreign cultures.
Our curriculum will teach us about the history, culture, and people of the region. After all, there is no better way to learn about culture than to experience it firsthand.
We will be led by experienced teachers and engage in a wide variety of cultural encounters and adventures. We'll get to interact with locals and experience European culture while learning about the people, art, education, customs, and history of France, Greece and Italy.
Needless to say, I am incredibly excited to take this journey of experience as I move through high school and prepare for college.
