On June 7th, our beloved mother Karen gained her wings and left this world far too soon. She was a bright light to everyone who knew her — a warm, loving, and selfless woman whose heart was always open to others.
Karen was a devoted mother to three daughters: Amanda, Kali, and Cheyanne and Grandmother to three amazing grand children: Angelina, Melanie, and Liam. She had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor that could make anyone laugh, and she treated everyone with fairness, honesty, and love — whether you were family or a stranger.
In late May, Karen was hospitalized with pneumonia and placed on a ventilator. Over the course of 16 days, her body struggled to recover, and during that time, she had to undergo a life-altering surgery — the amputation of her right leg due to severe cardiovascular complications. Despite her strength and will to fight, her body was simply too tired, and she passed peacefully, surrounded by love.
Karen's final wishes were to be cremated, with her ashes divided between her daughters, and the rest spread in Ventura, California — the coastal hometown that held her heart.
We are humbly asking for support to help cover cremation and memorial costs, and to fulfill her wish of returning to Ventura. Any amount, no matter how small, would mean so much to us as we navigate this heartbreaking time and honor the memory of a mother who gave us laughter, love, and light.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support.
With love,
Amanda, Kali & Cheyanne
