Karen Raimondi's - Chemo Treatment
Donation protected

Karen had surgery back in November to remove a mass that was incidentally found on her liver. We are so thankful to God it was found and it was successfully removed, but it turned out to be a rare cancer, Neuro Endocrine Tumors. Per Karen's doctor at Vanderbilt, Karen's is the rarest of rare and their hope is to do whatever they can to prevent other tumors from forming.
They prescribed 4 rounds of chemo, 2 different pill types, versus IV chemo. In their studies, this will have the least side effects and they believe it works better for this type of cancer. However, our prescription health insurance (Caremark) has denied coverage for this treatment because of not having enough documented proof it makes a difference, but Karen's specialist and others around the country appealed saying there isn't enough documented proof because Karen is the rarest of rare. After 3 failed appeals, Karen is paying for her treatment 100% out of pocket because she knew time was of the essence and wanted to put this behind her and move on.
I want Karen to feel she isn't fighting this disease alone and failure of the insurance company's response to cover her treatment...as you imagine, it has put a financial strain on her family.
So many people have asked how they can help and even suggested a fundraising page, I decided it would be okay and humbly ask for help.
If you are able to contibute, it would help Karen pay her 3rd and 4th round of treatment which will begin soon and they are expected to end in June. Any donations will be much appreciated and help tremendously.
