The Final Chapter of Karen Griggs
Donation protected
Here's a story about our mother Karen Griggs' MIRACULOUS and COURAGEOUS fight with Cancer and the side effects of chemotherapy. It is my Mother's wish to give this testimony herself after full recovery, however, time is not on our side. I pray this story will encourage and inspire you in your own life battles. I also pray that it will move you to donate and help our family during this tough transition as her life ends. Your donations will help ease the tremendous financial strain we are and will soon experience in the next 24 hours or so. All of the allocated funds will be utilized for final house hold and medical bills, end of life care, and funeral/burial expenses.

Karen Griggs, our mother, is a person filled with life and joy. She loves hosting parties at her house while providing people with an opportunity to kick up their feet, eat, relax, laugh, and dance! She is unbiasedly, the most authentic and selfless person we know. She will give her last to her loved ones, including her grand children Jordyn (6yrs old) and Chayce (3yrs old).

On April 8, 2015, all that would change when she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) . With several Chemotherapy treatments and God's grace, she kicked cancer's ass :-) and the cancer cells were no longer present , therefore, placing her into remission in July 2015!

Our celebration was cut short as the side effects of Chemo would begin to haunt us as she went into Septic Shock on August 1, 2015. After going into septic shock and undergoing several deep tissue removal surgeries, dialysis, and becoming partially paralyzed, God was on her side as she regained strength and beat all the odds that were against her. As she began to rehabilitate over the next few months, we were able to grant her wishes and bring her back home 1 week before Thanksgiving!

Unfortunately, on November 21, 2015, our little 5ft 1in fighter was struck again with septic shock and this time is proving to be terminal. On November 26, 2015 (Thanksgiving Day) we were informed our mom was suffering from total Kidney failure, brain swelling and hemorrhaging. After several months of fighting, we have come to the harsh reality that her body is tired. As I type this, our courageous Mother is still fighting as she is comfortably off of life support and taking her last breaths and preparing to enter her permanent home with Our Lord.
Thank You for supporting us through this difficult time!
Sincerely (Her "Babies"),
