As most of you know, many Houstonians suffered severe loss during the April 18th flood.
What some of you may not know is that our fellow WHCC Committee Member (and our 2016 Committeeperson of the Year), Karen Jones lost everything - again.
Karen suffered the same loss in 2001 during Allison. Since rebuilding from Allison, Karen’s wonderful mother moved into her home.
On April 18th, 2016 both Karen and her mother lost everything as 16 inches of water destroyed their home, car and personal belongings. They now have to start over. Most of the manual labor is underway but my ask to you is to help contribute any dollar amount possible. The funds will go straight to Karen to help rebuild her home and get back to normal.
Karen is always there for us with a huge smile on her face. Let’s come together for her during this tough time. I’ll be posting progress updates and soon, we’ll be planning a painting party.
Warm regards,
Dustin
