Most of you know that this is Karen's 2nd round of battling cancer. This is hard to read let alone write, but Karen received some very upsetting news yesterday after a round of numerous tests last week.
Chemo is only making her more ill, and at this time it is not working. Unfortunately, our current health care system is not set up to allow anything besides "Big Pharma" medicine that only has a 2% success rate using these methods.
She has tried the traditional protocols so we feel it is time for some alternative therapies that aren't covered by insurance. Our ultimate goal would be a 2nd opinion from a renowned Doctor that takes a balanced approach of traditional methods with advanced modern technology that includes natural homeopathic protocols, but he is in California. A lot can be done over the phone, but obviously she will need to eventually go there. Her current doctors are not educated, experienced or interested in these alternatives.
Those of you who know me, know that I am a big proponent of these alternative methods. I chose them for myself when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. I did not do ANY of the "traditional" recommended treatments, except surgery. I've done a lot of research for myself as well as for Karen. I feel she has nothing to lose at this point, but has everything to gain!
