Karen's Battle

My best friend, Julie Tunick, and her family were recently hit with some life changing news. About six weeks ago her mom Karen was diagnosed with breast cancer. A self exam following a friend's diagnoses led to the finding. Since, she has gone through extensive testing and just finished her second round of chemotherapy. If all goes well she should have surgery to remove the cancer this fall followed by radiation treatment. The toll this has taken on the Tunick family mentally, emotionally and Karen physically is painful to watch. On top of it all, their health share plan only pays a fraction of the costs and financial assistance within the hospital where she is receiving treatment is limited. And now they are beginning to receive bills...

I have known Julie as long as I can remember. She has always been there for me and my family. If you have crossed paths with her, you would know that she is the most giving person you will ever meet. I want all of us to rally together and give back to her and her family during this difficult time.
