Hello dear friends and family of Karen Taylor-Good and Dennis Good...

This is Stowe Dailey - best friend and duo partner of Karen, barber and great appreciator of Dennis, and all-around fan of the entire Good family. Maybe you know the family well, or perhaps you are a fan of Karen Taylor-Good’s many healing and heart-touching songs. Either way, I'm reaching out to make you all aware of something that's going on with these lovely folks.

Karen’s husband, Dennis Good, recently suffered a serious fall while visiting his family in Pennsylvania. He fractured his hip, underwent surgery, and is now recovering in a rehab facility in York PA — far from their home in Franklin, Tennessee.

Unfortunately, Dennis’s Medicare Advantage plan doesn’t want to cover care outside his home area. This means many of his current medical and rehab expenses will be out-of-pocket. He will have somewhat better options when he’s back in Tennessee (most of the nicer rehab facilities will not take Advantage plans at all), but getting him home is proving to be very difficult. An air ambulance would be $54,000. That seems out of the question. A medical transport via road travel is $6,000 and a 12 hour drive. But first he must be stable and strong enough to travel, so more days in rehab - possibly self paid - are needed.

Needless to say, the emotional and financial strain is growing, with Karen's travel, rental cars, hotel costs, mounting medical bills, refitting their home (chair lift to second story $4K - $8K), medical social worker helping with discharge planning and transitions of care at $140 per hour.

I'll cut to the chase: If you know Karen, you know she has spent decades lifting others with her music — songs of comfort, compassion, and healing that have touched hearts around the world. Now, it’s our turn to send some love and lift up her and Dennis.

Every contribution, big or small, will help ease this burden and get Dennis home to heal, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.
