Karen Sue Hummer

Sometimes in this world there are those special people who just love sharing their passions with others and Karen was most definitely one of these amazing individuals. She loved teaching others so much that she continued to fight through years of pain and medical struggles to share the German language with her students at Canfield High School, of which she was also a proud graduate. Sadly, after one month in retirement, Karen passed away on the morning of April 5th.

Those of us that knew and cared for Karen will make sure that her memory and her passion for teaching lives on and she too will continue to support students through a scholarship fund that she wished to be established in her name.

We are working to ensure that the immediate needs of her memorial service and final care are taken care of and we would appreciate your consideration in helping us give Karen the service, final care, and memorial that she is so deserving of. As you may know, she had few surviving relatives locally and like so many educators, her school family was always there for her in addition to several close friends.
