Karen Steelman's fight against cancer

Hi, my name is Carolyn Boyd and I am raising funds to help Karen Steelman cover some of her medical and travel expenses as she battles ovarian cancer. Karen is not only a dear friend and brilliant scholar, but a warmhearted and giving woman. Those who know her know what a gift she is to us and to the world. Karen was diagnosed with cancer in September and had major surgery in October. For the next several months she will be traveling back and forth from Comstock to San Antonio to undergo chemotherapy (400 miles, round trip). Her medical and travel expenses are mounting, adding stress to an already difficult situation. Her focus needs to be on healing, not on how she will cover expenses.
