A month ago, my mom was in a horrible, life-altering accident falling from a horse. She was taken to a level one trauma center with a traumatic brain injury causing a stroke in addition to multiple broken bones.

The doctors are projecting a need for intense specialized physical therapy to bring her back to a state of self-sufficiency after she is released from the hospital. My mother's financial needs will be catastrophic with out-of-pocket expenses topping half a million dollars or greater. I would do anything for her, it’s difficult to see her in the hospital knowing the road ahead.

Karen is an amazing mom to me and has been married to my dad Rick for 35 years. Karen is a champion horse trainer and champions her border collies in herding trials, these are my mom's loves and passions.
