Karen Kampe: cremation and memorial

My mom had a huge love of life. She had a great smile and a huge heart. Through all the adversity that she faced, she always found a way to make her efforts count. She was a strong and hard working woman who wanted the best for her loved ones. That’s one of the many reasons that I have set this page up.
Mom deserves the best final arrangements that we can put together for her. She was funny and beautiful and genuinely loved the people in her life. She worked hard her whole life and didn’t mind getting her hands dirty. She often worked what she called a “man’s job” which took its’ toll on her body. Suffering from arthritis and joint problems as well as other ailments led her to require shoulder surgery. With hopes of a better life and better mobility, she went in for the operation. Then tragically, due to complications from surgery, one of the prettiest smiles on earth was taken from us.
She fought hard to hang on, but finally succumbed to the illness and injury that had befallen her. She passed peacefully as I held her hand in the early hours of the 5th of December, 2016. Mom loved God, music, her children and grand children. She was an amazing lamp worker and glass artist.
With the unexpected outcome of this situation, there was no life insurance and we have no means of accomplishing her final wishes and arrangements that she truly deserves. Due to the inherent time-constricting circumstances I chose Gofundme for the expeditious process. I will be using these funds for her final arrangements, such as cremation, a beautiful and fitting urn as well as her final resting place next to her father, John Kampe in Corpus Christi, Texas.
