On the afternoon of January 10, 2023, California's recent disastrous rains and floods struck Karen's paradise cabin home in the mountains. The ongoing massive flow of water, debris and mud caused the blockage of a major culvert and created a raging river of madness, which carved a destructive path directly toward her home and neighbors.

For 2 full days the water raged, destroying everything in its path.

This disastrous water, mud and debris flow caused significant damage to Karen's home, undermining its post and pier foundation, the loss of the retaining wall, destroying the driveway bridge, culvert, and access to the home, Septic tank damage along with plumbing waste lines, water heater, the generator buried in sand and other damage.

Thankfully the damage from this deluge can be repaired. Considerable reconstruction work and necessary heavy equipment will be needed.

The amount of work and cost is beyond Karen's resources. The work will be daunting though doable, and should strengthen the home and area against future similar situations.
