Karen Ertman Bart's Medical Fund

Hello Family & friends,

First off we would like to say thank you for all the love, support and prayers in these last few months. They are coming from far and near and Karen feels them all.

As many of you know Karen was recently diagnosed with inoperable stage IV metastatic breast cancer. This devastating and unexpected news came as a great shock to our family and to many of you this past May 2017. Karen went to the doctor earlier this year for what she thought was a cold, and a spiral chain of events led us to this diagnosis.

Immediately after finding out this news Karen started receiving care at the UCSD oncology center in Encinitas, Ca. In July, Karen finished aggressive radiation to help shrink the large mass in her chest which has been greatly compromising her breathing. Currently Karen is in her second round of chemotherapy as an outpatient. She has had a few complicating hospital admissions during this time, including a partially collapsed lung and a blood clot in her lung. Each chemo treatment takes a toll on Karen’s energy levels and make daily tasks difficult at this time.

As many of you know Karen and Jon rely on their home based business for income. Her current treatment regimen limits her presence to help with the business. This has become a financial hardship. At this point they could use financial help to alleviate the burden of some of the medical expenses. Karen is receiving extensive and thorough care to tackle this cancer head on. We are asking for donations of any amount to go directly towards her medical expenses and medical care needs. Please do not feel obligated to donate, but any donation would be greatly appreciated. Cards, phones calls, texts, meals, etc are all other ways to help keep Karen's strength and spirits up in this battle. Also, please pray for the team of doctors, nurses and medical professionals who are overseeing Karen's care, a successful response to treatment. Please pray for peace and trust in God through this process and strength for Karen and her family.

Karen and our family have tremendous faith, strength and motivation that God will heal her from this disease and rid her body of any future cancer growth. We are grateful for those that have been praying for her, and ask that you continue to pray for healing and comfort.
