Karen & Barry Home Fire Relief Fund

Hi everyone,

My name is Lauren and my brother Jaryd and I are fundraising on behalf of my parents, Karen & Barry, who just recently lost everything they own in a devastating fire.

On the night of April 3rd, 2023, both of my parents were awoken by an extremely loud explosion in their RV park in Yuma, AZ. Within just minutes, both of my parents RV’s that they live and travel in full-time were completely decimated. They both escaped just in time and we are all very fortunate and grateful that they were not harmed at all, and were able to quickly drive away in their car. With the high winds that have been frequent in Yuma, the fire that started in their smaller travel RV quickly engulfed their larger stationary RV that they live in that was parked 10-15 feet away.

With that said, they have lost everything. My parents don’t have a brick and mortar home to return to. The little that they did have was all necessities and sentimental items. All that they have left is their car and the clothes on their back.

As their children, we are devastated and feel absolutely helpless as we do not live close & do not have the financial means to help.

Although my parents are very lucky to have wonderful people in their community who have come out in droves to help in any way they can, cooking meals, providing a place to sleep and stay, my brother and I have set up this fund to help them get back on their feet.

If you know Karen and Barry, you know that they are some of the most generous, selfless, compassionate people around, and are more hesistant to ask for help themselves. They are the kind of people who give no second thought to helping those around them in times of need and will go out of their way to make the lives of their friends and those in their community better.
