Hi!
I’m Karem. I’ve been on DACA since it was first introduced. DACA stands for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. I’ve been in the US since I was four months old. I grew up in NY and moved to Florida my sophomore year. I’m now 26.
DACA has allowed me to have my social security as well as a worker's permit so I can work. It’s allowed me to maintain a status.
I am currently in the process of my husband petitioning me, but I was advised to renew my DACA ASAP since it expires this December. I cannot lose my DACA status. The petitioning process can take a long time.
I just had my baby girl in August and need to be able to work to help my husband provide for all of us.
The application fee with everything comes to about $950. It’s a lot and it’s harder to come up with it now that life looks a little bit different.
I don’t like to ask for help, but I’m in dire need of renewing my DACA. Even just sharing this will help. I really appreciate any and all help.
Thank you. ❤️
