Hello, my name is Jess and I am a 23 year old English Karate Athlete.
This year, I reached a major milestone in my karate career — breaking into the top 100 of the WKF world rankings. It’s been a long journey since first joining the England National Team in 2017, and I’m incredibly proud of the progress made so far.
My next goal is to continue climbing the rankings by competing at several upcoming WKF events in Georgia, Spain, Colombia, and Austria, with the ultimate aim of representing England.
Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to achieve:
Double British Champion
Double British University Champion
Two-time Silver Medallist at the European University Games
However, like many karate athletes, I face the challenge that our sport in England is entirely self-funded. Every international competition involves covering travel, accommodation, and entry costs personally.
I’m currently looking for support for my journey through the 2026 season and beyond.
Thank you to everyone who’s supported me so far — University of Nottingham Sport, University of Nottingham Karate Club, Sport Newcastle, Bernicia Group, North East Physio, Stephanie Connell, Cillian McGoldrick, teammates, and everyone who believes in what I’m working toward. The journey continues!
