USA ✈️ London August 10th!
I’m Kara Gooch, an apprenticeship graduate turned workforce strategist, invited to present at the International Center for Apprenticeship Degrees (ICAD) convening in London this August.
Before this stage was presented to me, I was a tech apprentice listening to my coworkers struggle to feel seen, heard and valued. Though my journey was marketable, I knew I could use my platform to share the experiences of others and advocate for change. My training as an apprentice ambassador led to the necessary confidence to be featured on national stages like Goodwill Action Summit, Makers Conference powered by Yahoo! and more.
The next stage was a role created for me on the National Future Talent Team as the Apprentice Experience Lead. This stage led me to discover my love for teaching. Tuesday through Thursdays at 1pm Central became the reason for doing my job well. Leading others to understand that the greatness they sought was already in them made the work a lot more meaningful. With 200 sessions under my belt, 100s of hours of coaching and 3 successful apprentice graduations produced within one year, I needed perspective. One that helped me realize that I'm not the only success story worth retelling. Or that other apprenticeship programs promoted from within.
The wide net was cast, and I reeled in an invitation to OXFORD UNIVERSITY.
A college dropout, turned tech apprentice, turned Apprentice strategist is now a panelist at a world-renowned university showing global leaders the power they seek is already within their ranks; it's within their alumni.
This stage will be the graduation I've longed for and one I'll never forget.
Will you help me mount the podium on AUGUST 11th?
