As most of you know, my sister Kara was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer in May. After we got over the initial shock of the diagnosis & treatment plan, the cost of treatment and surgery started to sink in. For those of you that know Kara, you know she has always been a hard worker (she’s currently a school teacher AND working at Walgreens) and uses every free minute she has to help out friends and family. What you probably don’t know is that for teachers, their medical deductible rolls over in September. So for Kara, getting cancer in May was bad luck - she’s going to hit her out of pocket medical maximum twice in one year. Anything you can donate will make a difference in helping her pay for chemo, surgery, and radiation this year. Kara is always helping others - and now’s our chance to help her in return. Kara is one of the strongest people I know - an awesome single mom, a patient kindergarten teacher, a woman who never complains, a loyal friend, the best sister, + so much more - and we’re hopeful & determined that she is going to beat this.
