Kara and Ryan Lessman IVF Journey

Donation protected
This is something I’ve never done before but this is so near and dear to my heart. Many of you know my sister, Kara Lessman, and brother-in-law, Ryan Lessman continue on their journey for a little miracle- Baby Lessman. Their journey has been long, tiring, and so heart wrenching— but if you know Kara and Ryan you know they are strong-willed, determined individuals and have faith bigger than the sky! They are not giving up on their dream of being a momma and daddy. Their journey continues.

Written by Kara in April 2020:
Ryan and I were married June 13, 2015 and decided quickly after that we were ready to start trying for children. After one year of trying and no success... we were referred on to an infertility specialist for a consult. Needless to say we had a lot to learn and a lot of research to do after that visit. In our research, we found a specialist we love and trust and continue to have faith in throughout our journey. Our 1st round of IVF was completed in July of 2017. We had 3 embryos in which we transferred 2 and froze one. After the 2 embryos failed to implant...we turned around and used our frozen embryo in November 2017. We then decided we wanted to try again and after taking a few months off, we did our 3rd round of IVF in July of 2018 transferring one embryo and freezing one embryo. We decided to take a little longer break after that one was not successful to let my body rest a little. We were ready to try again and went to do our 4th round using our frozen embryo in November of 2019 however my estrogen did not get high enough so that round got put on hold.

Kara and Ryan had that frozen embryo transferred in the fall of 2020. We (I say we because that includes so many of you, too) prayed so BIG that this embryo would be their miracle. However, God had different plans in mind and that transfer was yet again unsuccessful.

After taking a few months to let their hearts heal, they were referred to another specialist. This one being out of state, all the way in Colorado. Their hearts felt led to go. And so they did. They met with the doctor of one of the leading fertility clinics in the nation. He is one of the worlds most renowned fertility specialists. With seeing the worlds best doctors comes greater expenses. They will have at least a one week stay to monitor everything in the near future.

Sometimes in life I think it’s ok to ask for help.. my heart tells me this is one of those times! If your heart feels led to donate, Kara and Ryan would forever be grateful. Their journey continues and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for these two!
