Small Business lost in Fire

Hi. My name is Maggie Wallace. I am (or...was? still processing how to move forward) the sole owner of Sunshine Esthetics. I recently lost everything to a fire. All my equipment, product, plants, everything. 

I don’t know exactly what the future looks like, and that’s okay. I am so so so grateful for what being in the house taught me. I am grateful for the night sessions, the changing colors of the room, the moments the room held me while I cried, the intense laughs, the beauty of the plant nook, the comfort of going to work after life was unexpected and I could meditate with people, the friends I got to see everyday, the relationships I built, Miss. Bean or Christy the wolf dog wandering around the house, the comfort of walking in in the morning to the smell of coffee, and Alene sitting and reading the newspaper, ready to chat. I’ll miss hearing the neighbor kids outside, laughing and playing. I'll miss the smell of Alene cooking while I worked. 

I am grateful to have gotten such a freeing, unlimited space to start a business. No one told me what to do or how to do it, no one made me feel bad for trying new things, all I received was support. Support from all of the community. What a beautiful place to be seeded and nourished.

 

Thank you. To everyone who has supported me. Thank you thank you thank you. I can’t express enough my gratitude for my clients, my community, all of it. I’m sorry to all of you for this loss. It’s huge and incomprehensible and devastating for so many. You know it’s funny, when I feel this way all I want to do is give a facial. To touch someone is so comforting, and to create those moments has become my safety net, but..onwards we go.

All funds donated will go directly to me, and rebuilding my business. (and maybe a little will go into Talenti Gelato, because I'm sad and will need to lay in bed for a few days eating ice cream. )
