Kidney for Aunt Vicki
UPDATE! We need to move up the date! My Aunt Vicki will need the transplant as soon as possible! We are scheduled for JANUARY 23rd.
UPDATE: Yahoo!!! After 4 months of testing locally and an extensive 2 days in St Louis for final testing, I got the word that I was approved to donate a kidney to my Aunt Vicki.
Now we just need your help raising $10,000 to allow this gift of life for her. Money will be used for travel & lodging, lost income and ongoing medication costs for Aunt Vicki. I will be out of work for 8-10 weeks and must now travel and stay in St Louis for 12-14 days with a medical companion (my husband or mother) for the transplant. Please help us! Donations may be sent through Venmo as well @Cynthia-Young-63

Last summer, I asked my Aunt Vicki how her kidney was doing. After finding out she didn’t have a match for her kidney I decided to get tested. I was able to do all 4 months of testing in my home state. Soon I found out that I was a match! However, the last of the testing needed to be done in the state she will be having the transplant in, 1,276 miles away from where I live.
We feel so amazingly bless with the donations we have received thus far, that made this possible. I was able to traveled there for the last of the testing. I got the call from the doctor the next week. I’m all approved to donate! I am so excited to be able to do this for her!
With this amazing news, comes great financial hurdles and unforeseen medical expenses.
I will need to travel with my medical companion for the procedure. I was told by the medical staff that because of my occupation (Preschool Teacher), I will need to be out of work for at least 8-10 weeks. I will need to plan to stay out of state for 12-14 days before I can go home and someone will need to stay with me during this time to help me with my recovery. These financial expenses are not something my family can cover alone.
For all these reasons... We have decided to continue with this fundraiser to raise the money needed to donate my kidney to my Aunt Vicki and to help alleviate the financial burden on my family through this incredible opportunity to give her the gift of life.
We THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers and support. We will keep you all updated throughout this journey.
Anything you are able to donate will be immensely appreciated and prudently spent. Any funds raised that are not used up by the above mentioned, will be donated to my Aunt Vicki for her medical bills/kidney medications or to the kidney donation center.
Donations may be sent through Venmo as well @Cynthia-Young-63
With love,
Vicki and Cynthia♥

Help me donate my kidney to my Aunt Vicki!
This special person has lived her whole life with just one kidney but now the only one she has has been compromised. She desperately needs a new kidney ASAP!
I have spent the last 4 months preparing to see if I am a match to donate.
I will now need to fly out to her as soon as I have the funds to do so.
However, the cost to fly out there with my medical companion round trip along with lodging and car rental is not something my family can do alone. I will also be out of work for at least 3-4 weeks without pay.
Anything you are able to donate will be immensely appreciated and prudently spent. Any funds raised that are not used up by the above mentioned, will be donated to the kidney recipient for her medical bills or to the kidney donation center.
Please consider contributing what you can to help me save this amazing woman, mother and grandmother’s life.
