Ruth Silver owns and runs KangaRooKids Music & Drama, where she teaches and empowers children from 0-11 through drama, music and entertainment with the help of her kangaroo puppet 'Roo' and more.
Naturally with Covid-19, to protect children, parents and families Ruth had to stop her physical nursery and school classes, her seasonal camps and weekend birthday parties.
However, Ruth has just come up with the idea to teach lessons online to get children and parents moving and singing along from home while we all follow social distancing guidelines.
Our first session on Friday 20 March was completely free for children to watch with their parents. We have had thousands of views with lots of happy children and parents.
However, Ruth has recently decided to teach lessons online to get children and parents moving and singing along from home while we all follow social distancing guidelines.
From Monday 23 March we will be asking for your donations to help us continue to run our classes and keep children active and smiling during this difficult time. Each week, we will choose a different charity and will donate 20% of all proceeds.
This coming week, we are proud to be supporting The Music Man Project charity via our online classes. Watch their video here: https://youtu.be/b_C0AXPuuqs
One of their patrons, 8 year old Noah Wall, received treatment for Spina Bifida in Australia and he now loves kangaroos and puppets. His mum got in touch with us when she saw our announcement about online classes, so we posted him one of our little Joey puppets and decided to choose The Music Man Project as our first charity.
The Music Man Project is an award-winning music education service for children and adults with learning disabilities which operates throughout the UK.
