Refuge for Kangaroo Island wildlife

Donation protected

Lending a helping hand to the Kangaroo Island wildlife is what we have always done here at Left Field Farm.  All animals here are either orphaned, injured, unwanted or rescued from culling.  Predominantly we work with the soft release of kangaroos, wallabies and possums back into the wild , but have also taken in many other needy souls over the years.  With the current devastating fires that have torn through our little isle, thousands upon thousands of natives have not survived. Yet many in our vicinity have. And have been flooding to our little sanctuary for water, food and shelter from the horror that surrounds them.  We have been fighting to save our sanctuary tirelessly for over a week with our old  1965 Austin fire truck Betty.  An invaluable member of our Left Field family. And so far so good!  Betty has kept our sanctuary safe. So if you would like to lend us a hand in both helping the wildlife, and giving Betty an extra leg of live, we would be very grateful. We need food, water and medical supplies for the roos & wallabies, glossy black cockatoo nesting boxes, holding yards and fencing. And our old girl Betty will need some serious tender loving care after working tirelessly day and night to save both us and our neighbours from continual spot fires that could take away the last bit of bushland our critters have! We would love her to be CFS and roadworthy compliant.

All funds raised will be withdrawn in my name.  These funds will be solely used to purchase food for the animals both in our sanctuary and throughout the extensive bunt areas that surround us. It will purchase additional holding yards for soft release animals. It will allow us to cover the funds of raising kangaroo and wallaby joeys which include milk powder, vet bills, dry food etc.  It will cover hay costs. Vegetable costs. And if any funds remain, we will buy some new tires (that were scorched in the fires) and replace the master cylinder of our fire truck Betty who has saved the lives and so much habitat for so many animals during these horrendous fires. Fires that have now consumed more than half of our island home.

So on behalf of the Stokes Bay wildlife, and Betty the wildlife warrior fire truck, thank you
