Kangaroo Island mayoral relief and recovery
Donation protected
This week, we received the devastating news that my Aunt and Uncle (and cousins) lost their home AND their sheep farm in the fires that are still tirelessly sweeping across Australia.
We have such fond childhood memories of visiting the farm, helping Uncle John feed the sheep, holding and feeding baby lambs, driving around in the Ute, eating Aunty Jose's home made bread, looking out for snakes while exploring the farm, playing tennis, showering the sheep dogs with love when they weren't working, etc.
And when we weren't at the farm, we LOVED going to Flinders Chase and climbing around on Remarkable Rocks, sandboarding down the sand dunes, having tea on the beautiful beaches with our friends, eating meat pies from the absolutely tiny town of Kingscote, wondering if there were sharks in the swimming pool that was basically just an extension of the ocean...
Kangaroo Island is one of my favorite places in the world, and to be getting news every day that so many people have lost their homes, their livestock, their sheds, some even their lives, it's heartbreaking. Many farmers have had to shoot their fire injured sheep, a task which would seem impossible after what they've already been through.
I know that most of us have just spent way too much money over the holiday season, and the budget feels tight - But if there's one thing we need to remember more than anything else during the holiday season, and going into the new year, it's that we need to help take care of each other. What if it were you, your family, your loved ones?
We hear it all the time, and sounds cliche, but it is so true - every dollar counts! even if you can only donate $1, $5, it is so so appreciated.
Every single cent that is donated to this go fund me will be donated to the KI mayoral relief and recovery bushfire fund - This money will go directly to islanders in need. See link below.

If you want to donate, but not necessarily to Kangaroo Island specifically, there are so many places that are pleading for help. I would also happily suggest Celeste Barber's Fundraiser for The Trustee for NSW Rural Fire Service & Brigades, see link below.
I've set the goal to $1000, but will increase it if I see the number raising. Thank you thank you thank you so much for anything and everything.
