Who we are
Our names are Davis and Jehonna Kane. We have been married for a little over 3 years. We currently have a 15-month-old son named Elias, and a stillborn 19-week old baby boy named Isaiah Kane. We currently live in Provo, Utah while Davis attends graduate school at BYU. Jehonna was an educator before having to go on medical leave.

What We're Raising Money For
We're raising money for our medical and funeral bills that have accumulated during the week-long events that culminated in the stillbirth of our lovely son Isaiah. Here is our story:

Feb. 5th-Feb. 7th
At 18 weeks, we rushed to the hospital due to some abnormal vaginal bleeding. Doctors discovered that Jehonna's cervix dilated significantly, and that the gestational sac was protruding out.  The next day, we received the green light that an emergency cerclage will be performed. What should've been a 30-minute procedure lasted a total of 2 hours due to the extent to which the sac was protruding out of Jehonna’s cervix. The following day, we returned home and watched for signs of infection and membrane rupture. Jehonna asked for a long-term leave from her job as she was told that she’d be strictly bedridden for the remainder of her pregnancy.

Feb. 8th
We returned to the hospital for a possible membrane rupture. Multiple tests showed that the membranes were indeed ruptured. However, per ultrasounds, amniotic fluid levels were normal, indicating the greater likelihood that the sac was intact. After an 8-hour stay, we returned home.

Feb. 10th-11th
Overnight, Jehonna started feeling baby Isaiah kick less and less, and by the early hours of Feb. 10th, she developed a high fever. We were scheduled for a routine check that afternoon. Upon attending that check-up, we discovered that Isaiah’s heart stopped. Isaiah passed away overnight; doctors were certain an infection caused his death and Jehonna’s high fever. We rushed to Labor & Delivery to have the cerclage removed and induce labor, to protect Jehonna’s health. At 6:50pm, Isaiah was born at 19 weeks, weighing only 9 oz. and 9 inches long. Jehonna recovered soon after the birth, and we returned home.

Feb. 13th & Feb. 16th
Little Isaiah was cremated and forever will be in our hearts. Exactly a week after his death, he was returned to us and we are finally complete.

How the Money Will be Used
All funds will be used to pay off medical and funeral fees including:
- 3 hospital visits
- 3 overnight stays
- insertion and removal of cerclage
- anesthesia and vaginal birth
- cremation of baby Isaiah

Why This Means So Much to Us
With Davis attending graduate school and working part-time, we currently have multiple student loans in our hands. Jehonna was the primary breadwinner with her teaching experience and degree. Upon the knowledge that she will be bedridden, she requested to be put on medical long-term leave, which resulted in her losing her job. Hence, any monetary donations given to this cause is a great help and a huge burden lifted off our shoulders. Any small amount is greatly appreciated, and would mean so much to us at this trying and challenging time.

We are Grateful for All Donations of Any Kind
As a young family struggling with this challenging trial, any help at any level is most wonderful and appreciated. We miss our little Isaiah, but we hold onto the knowledge that our little family has a guardian angel looking after us. We believe that we will be together forever, not in this life, but in the next.

Please share this link, it is equally a big help for us!
