Kane Nathaniel Acosta was born July 25th, 2000. he was born 14 weeks prematurely. Kane was only 2 pounds, 9 ounces when he was born. In the first 3 months of his life, he had to have open heart surgery. The doctors didn't think he would survive. He defied them and lived to be 21 years of age.

Kane was born a fighter and if you knew him, you know that he was never afraid.

Just 3 weeks prior to his 22nd birthday, he was murdered in his home while he was protecting his mother and sister. Kane stepped in front of the gun that was pointed at his sister and mother by the man who vowed to protect them - his stepfather. He gave his life for them. Kane is the definition of a hero. He put his family above his own life.

With any extra money he had, Kane gave it to his mom to help with the bills. Being so young, he didn’t have life insurance or any savings.

Friends and family have asked what they can do to help... Anything you can donate will help. All donations will go towards his funeral expenses (casket, plot, burial services, grave marker and service) and will honor Kane as we say our last goodbyes. No parent should ever have to bury their child... But we'd like to honor him in our funeral service for him... Please help us do that...
