Hello friends and family ♥

My name is Britney, and recently my family and I received the heartbreaking news about my mom's (Kandy Mannix) health. It started out as a normal doctor's visit, and 3 weeks later we found out she has Stage 4 Lung Cancer.

She initially had a cough that came every once in a while, but doctors insisted it was a lingering symptom from Covid. She received a scan months ago when she had Covid, but nothing unusual was reported. This past March, my mom decided to get another scan on her chest because the cough never went away. That was when we found out there was a mass in her lung.

Over the last few months, the mass has metastasized and spread to her lymph nodes and brain, but doctor's also found that her cancer had mutated. We found that this specific mutation can be treated with the medication Tagrisso.

My mom is 51 years old and has worked as a Corrections Officer for 19 years at her local Sheriff's Office. She loves what she does but had to stop working, given the heartbreaking news, making it hard to cover treatment/medical bills. She is young, healthy, and VERY strong. She has 4 kids and a husband that are doing everything possible to help her out.

This Fundraiser is to help my mom with her battle against Cancer and to help pay for her treatments with Tagrisso. Any and every donation is more than we could ever ask for. Even sharing this with someone you know goes a long way. We are more than thankful to everyone that is willing to help my mom in her fight against cancer. I will be providing updates here as she continues her healing journey.
