John and Kristin are (finally) getting married!!! In lieu of traditional bridal registries, or asking for gifts, we have chosen to make this our ONLY official registry. Since we have combined our two homes we are all set on household items. So this will make it easy for you to send a wedding gift without having to go shopping!
We have set up this GoFundMe as a way to easily contribute to a charity that is close to our hearts, Bullmastiff Rescuers, Inc. This is our way to honor our beloved Bullmastiff, Matilda, as well as a breed we fell in love with.
In the four short years we had Matilda she gave us so much love and joy! She also gave us some pretty hefty bills. In her short time with us she was faced with several hip X-rays, two knee surgeries, multiple bladder infections, eye and ear infections, skin allergies, and a few extra visits to the ER for eating her stuffed animals! Add to that her special diet, medications and regular check-ups and shots! Needless to say, she was lucky to have us. We were able to take care of all her needs. The sad thing, however, are the amount of Bullmastiff owners that are not able to care for their dogs when major medical issues arise. Or sadly, they were not prepared for how big Bullmastiffs can get and just don’t have the room. Caring for a large breed dog comes with many challenges.
Bullmastiff Rescuers, Inc. works with animal shelters, owners in need of assistance and other rescue groups to aid in the care and placement of Bullmastiffs in need. Their mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home Bullmastiffs. They focus on getting the dogs into a safe foster care program, where they address the dogs’ veterinary needs. From there they help place the dogs in permanent homes as soon as they are well enough for adoption.
