Our beautiful friend and colleague Kandice, her fiancé Ryan and children have lost their home in a house fire. Everything they’ve built, all their belongings, memories gone in an instant. They are safe and that’s what matters most.
A fire started in the garage of their beautiful new home, in the early hours of the morning while Kandice was sleeping upstairs. What saved her, was having wired smoke alarms connecting the alarms on both levels of the house, so when the downstairs alarm went off, it also triggered the one upstairs. Thats what woke Kandice and alerted her in time to get out, ultimately saving her life... The road ahead to rebuild their lives is going to be a long one, with news their home will need to be demolished and rebuilt.
If you know Kandice, you know she is one of the kindest, most genuine humans... the type who would and has dropped everything to help others without even thinking twice. Right now, it’s our turn to show up for her and her family.
We’re raising funds to help them get through the immediate days and weeks ahead to take even a small amount of pressure off as they begin to rebuild.
One thing this has really reminded us is just how quickly things can change. If nothing else, please take a moment to check your smoke alarms at home, it’s something so small that can make all the difference.
Let’s wrap this beautiful family in support and remind them they’re not going through this alone.
