Kandace Rowden's Fight with Breast Cancer
Donation protected
On October 14, 2021, Kandace was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Since her diagnosis, she has had 3 surgeries to remove the cancerous masses. The first two surgeries were in Yakima, but she asked to be seen in Seattle after being told she needed to have a 3rd surgery. After consulting with UW Doctors, it was determined that she needed one last surgery to remove the cancerous cells. Her 3rd surgery was in Seattle on January 24th.
Kandace's cancer tumors have been determined to be aggressive and are very high for reoccurrence risk. The doctors want to lessen those risks; therefore, she will undertake a series of Chemotherapy treatments over the next 6-8 months. After Chemotherapy, she will have radiation treatment and then several years of prescriptions and shots in hopes of fighting against the return of the disease.
Just before her diagnosis, Kandace changed jobs, limiting her on accrued paid leave time and qualifications for other sources that would help with the leave she needs for treatment and recovery. Unfortunately, She is looking at some unpaid time off over the next 6 - 8 months (maybe even longer).
In hopes of helping her with the numerous medical bills that are already piling up, the future medical services, and travel costs, I am reaching out to her family and friends to help her through this challenging journey.
If you feel you want to donate directly, please get in touch with me, and I can provide you with other ways to submit a donation.
Thank you for supporting Kandace and her family!
