My name is Kamryn King and I am a sophomore at Kennesaw State University with plans to apply to the nursing program in June.
I have been selected to travel abroad to Ghana this summer. I am extremely excited and grateful for this opportunity however, due to financial hardship, I am raising money to cover the cost of the program. The total program fee is $4,000 which includes round trip airfare, local transportation between cities, international insurance, visa fee, and homestay and lodging.
Arriving to college and being introduced to different people and their cultures sparked a desire to travel internationally. Luckily, I was able to find a program that perfectly aligns with my interests and goals.
The program is three weeks long and will include classes at the University of Cape Coast, Music in Society and Introduction to African Diaspora Studies. Upon completion, I will earn 6 credits toward my undergraduate degree. The trip will also feature several community service projects and visits to historical landmarks like the Kankum National Park and Cape Coast Castle.
This opportunity to learn in Ghana will aid in my personal and professional development as I will challenge myself improve my communication and adaptability skills as well as intercultural competence, which is necessary as I prepare for a career in nursing.
