Kamryn Can! Medical expenses help

Kamryn is a beautiful, kind, funny, athletic, artistic 9-year-old twin, big sister, daughter, grand-daughter, cousin, niece and friend. She is the quintessential cool kid. She is wearing the black leather jacket and beanie. We all wish we were more like her in so many ways. Tragically, she was in an accident while on vacation in Colorado this past Saturday. She fell approximately 50 feet down a mountain cliff and suffered severe injury.

-Broken T5 & T6 vertebrae
-T6 is putting pressure on spinal cord which has made Kamryn (hopefully) only temporarily lose the use of her legs
-5 broken ribs
-RT Elbow broken
-Both lungs bruised w/ fluid in them
-Liver maybe bruised a lil but ok
-Gashes/cuts over most of her body
She has already had spinal and elbow surgery. She came through like a champ and is breathing on her own. She is in severe pain but fighting hard. So far, the feeling and movement has not returned to her legs/feet but its still early so we are very hopeful this is temporary. Either way, she is our hero and we are amazed and grateful beyond measure to see her still talking like herself. Miraculously, she did not sustain any head injury. A thick skull is no doubt a gift from both sides of her family. I can say this because they are my people and I adore their hard heads. Davis and Merritt clans are not to be messed with.

Family and friends have already done so much to help. Truly, how would we get through this without all of you! The support has been inspiring. My uncle was able to fly Kamryn's parents, Paul and Jennifer, to Colorado on a charter plane so they could get there quickly. Our cousin was able to provide a condo of her friend for them to use as basecamp. Kamryn's maternal grandparents are there with her doing all they can to support her and her parents. Kamryn's paternal grandparents are caring for her siblings and dog. The room is littered with gifts and the visitors are pouring in showing support. The list goes on and on. It will bring you to your knees with appreciation if you take a moment to let the emotion roll in.

We are setting up this fund without knowing the depth of the expense to be incurred during her time in Colorado or upon her return home. We know that we have a charter plane, helicopter ride, hospital stay, surgeries and therapy that will no doubt produce bills beyond measure. If you are so inclined, please donate to help with these bills. We want our girl home and healing and we don't want Paul and Jennifer to stress about bills. Feel free to share this with your friends and family.

We would also like to start a #kamcan campaign so that people can post messages to her or pictures of things they have done in her honor. It can be something as simple as a get well message tagged with #kamcan or as big as today I overcame my fear of heights in her honor #kamcan. The positive energy will be great in helping her heal.

Thank you again for all your support. We will post messages with updates as we get them from her parents. This is tremendously hard for them but they are amazing parents and they are staying strong for her and her siblings.
