***UPDATED STORY***
Most of you know that October 4th 2025 Vinnie and I were going for a ride on the Harley, when another vehicle made a left turn across traffic right toward us. I suffered a fractured arm, knee, and I still have ongoing shoft tissue damage in my left arm. (Possibly needing surgery pending upcoming MRI)
Vinnie was air lifted to University of Chicago, where he had to undergo an emergency craniectomy to stop a double brain bleed. Due to his injuries he suffered "Aphasia"
(Aphasia is a language disorder from brain damage that impairs speaking, understanding, reading, and writing, but not intelligence, affecting communication by making speech jumbled, hard to find words, or difficult to comprehend)
After The University of Chicago he was sent to Shirley Ryan Abilitylab for intensive therapy.
Since he's been home life's been very different and hard at times, while he's trying to return completely to himself this is a long road to full recovery. He's doing incredible, but some days are harder than others. Which the doctors told us to expect... it may be up to a full year before we know the true extent of his injuries. Vinnie is our main provider of our family of 6 and this incident has been very hard on us financially. Everyone has been an incredible outpouring of support this far, and we wouldn't have made it this far with out all of you!!! Vinnie will be returning to work soon (hoping for February) but until then the struggle is getting real. If you are willing and able to help us out it is more than appreciated right now.
Again, we thank you all SOOOOO much for everything. Our family thanks you. We really wouldn't have made it through any of this with out you all!!!
