Kamloops goes to the Archery World Championships

Two local Kamloops Archers have been named to the Canadian National Team for 3D Archery, where they will attend the 2022 3D World Championships in Terni, Italy, held September 5th -10th.

Earlier this summer, the duo travelled to Lac la Biche, Alberta where they competed for a spot on Team Canada, both being named to the team at this event. However, to maintain their place on the National Team, they both had to travel to PEI to compete at the Canadian National Championships. As the event concluded, Marc & Miranda shot incredibly well, and both were awarded a National Gold Medal.

To sum up both archer's accomplishments individually:

Marc holds two National Gold Medals, one National Bronze, two Provincial Gold Medals, and two Provincial Silver Medals. He has been named a member of Team BC three times. In 2019 at the 3D World Championships, Marc qualified in 6th place with a final finish of 7th. This will be Marc's second International Competition.

Miranda holds eight National Gold Medals, two National Silvers, seven Provincial Gold Medals, and one Provincial Silver Medal. She has been named a member of Team BC for five consecutive years and has been a member of the Canadian National Team for three. In 2019, she attended her second World Championships, qualifying in 3rd place, with a final finish in 5th. In addition, she brought home a World Archery Silver Medal as a Women's National Team member. This will be her third International Event.

With the upcoming event being held in Italy, the expense of competing here is daunting for the pair. However, the locals have been practicing hard & are both confident in their skills. Marc & Miranda plan to do remarkably well and hope to come home with medals. Help their dreams become a reality! Funding will help towards travel costs, registration, and lodging.
