I have been friends with Jaymee and her family for 12 years. I am sure everyone who knows them can attest to this, but they are THE MOST CARING PEOPLE IN THE WORLD! They would take the shirt off their back and offer their home to random strangers if I wasn’t here to knock some sense into them. No one in the world deserves this kind of news, no one….. but especially not this family.

I have watched Kami and Fin grow up for the past 6 years and they are two of the sweetest, craziest, caring, most hilarious inseparable little rascals you will ever lay eyes on. If you need to laugh, they are your go-to guys. If you want to talk fart noises and Five Nights at Freddie’s- they are your boys. Fin is a mommy’s boy who refuses to sit and constantly wants to play, play, play. Kameron is a daddy’s boy who will snuggle up and watch a movie with you. Kami always makes sure his brother Fin has the better toys, treats, and even makes sure he gets the color toothbrush he wants.

What started as a trip to the pediatrician for a perceived stomach bug ended up being so much more......

For the two weeks prior, Kameron was vomiting, starting to talk about headaches and taking long naps —something he rarely did. Jaymee and Fabian took their first trip to the medical aid unit with Kameron and were sure it was just a nasty stomach bug going around.

A few days after, he was back to himself playing hard and being the crazy Kameron we all know and love. He was outside with his brother Finlee and neighbors having so much fun on the trampoline.

Later that same week, Kami woke up in the middle of the night vomiting with a severe headache. With fathers intuition that something just wasn’t right, Fabian took Kameron to his pediatrician and explained to him that this just cant be a stomach bug. On exam, Kam’s pediatrician noticed he had an unsteady gait and was deeply concerned.

Thankfully, his pediatrician acted so quickly and told Jaymee and Fabian to take Kami straight to AI hospital where they performed a CT scan. There they sat down and learned that Kameron had “some spots on his brain and chest.” As you can imagine, the wave of emotions to follow and the thought of cancer connected to their baby boy was crippling.

After two failed biopsy attempts from the “spot” that was in the chest, the doctors needed to do an emergency procedure on one of the tumors in Kameron’s brain because they were growing dramatically in size causing intense intracranial pressure. With this pressure in the brain, Kameron was vomiting more frequently and his heart rate was dropping drastically.

Jaymee and Fabian explained to Kami he had a boo-boo in his head and that the doctors needed to take it out. Kameron was scared but strong and at one point even began to comfort his mommy saying, “calm down mommy it’s okay, calm down” (For those of you who know Kameron, you know he always makes sure everyone around him is happy, especially his twin brother).

After 4 long hours in the OR, Kameron’s surgery went well, but unfortunately the tumor count went from three to nine showing high malignancy and metastasis.

As of today, 4/26/19 Kameron is in bed recovering with mom and dad by his side. The pathology report should be back in a week to tell exactly what the next step will be in this process.

Jaymee, Fabian, Kameron and Fin have a long road ahead of them. Most of their days will be spent at AI with their Kami doing their best to make him feel comfortable with this drastic change in environment and aquatinting him to this new lifestyle necessary to fight this awful disease. Please feel free to donate any amount to assist in medical expenses and the extensive leave they will have to take from work.

Lots of prayers and good vibes, let’s get our strong boy home!
