Donation protected
As many may know our beautiful and loving baby boy Kameron gained his wings officially yesterday July 3rd at 1:12 p.m. but many don’t know right now he made it safely yesterday to MidAmerica Transplant Hospital where he will be able to save other children as we decided for him to be an organ donor. I was hesitant at first with the thought of my baby not being transported back whole, but when they explained he fell in the 1% category to be a organ donor we could not resist at that point knowing this beautiful gift we received May 4th 2021 at 10:45 a.m. could save other children’s lives. On June 18th Kameron laid down for a nap after being fussy while me and his father Antoine were right outside (knowing he has a monitor for easy checking) putting together his birthday swing and slide and his big brothers (Zane) basketball hoop. After about 30 mins for him napping something told me to check the monitor to see his legs shaking continuously. As I made my way into the house to verify I walked into his room to him in a seizure. With no hesitation I grabbed him and ran outside yelling at Antoine we need to get him to the hospital. When we got there they started giving him IV medication to stop the seizure and noticed he was struggling to breath and needed to be intubated. As we waited in the waiting room I knew after 20 minutes something was wrong and told Antoine. Minutes later the doctor came in to tell us Kamerons heart stopped when initiating the tube and they had been performing CPR since then. For 25 minutes the performed the CPR until he was stable and we waited at he was to be air lifted to Children’s Hospital in St. Louis. During our stay at Children’s we quickly found out our baby had Rhinovirus and Adenovirus and from his symptoms of mild congestion and watering/draining eyes before the incident we would have never assumed he was ever that sick. He didn’t show it that he was that critical. Through the stay we learned the lack of oxygen supply to his brain from the cardiac arrest was his biggest battle that he tried I know to fight. After 12 long days of fighting our sweet baby gained his wings and we knew he was tired he had been through so much. We are asking for help with his funeral costs and expected medical bills. As we both our on leaves at work anything is helpful. Through this we still have faith and trust in God as he has plans that we may not understand.
