Kameko's Recovery

Donation protected
On the evening of December 16th the world grew smaller once again. In a matter of minutes another family broken and again a community shaken.

Five year old Kameko Ritterbush was at home with her parents and two brothers, freshly showered and excited for family game night. In a handful of moments the comfort and security of home was shattered as an unknown gunman sent close to a dozen bullets piercing through the front door, walls, windows, furniture, and their favorite toys.

Kameko endured a serious head injury. In the hours that followed she powered through major surgeries like the superheroes she admires, as a spectacular team of doctors removed fragments that has entered her head. Ultimately her injuries permanently claimed the vision in her left eye.

This devastating act of violence has sent shivers through everyone in the Fresno-Clovis-Madera community and has stretched into the homes and hearts of her extended family around the country. The days that have followed continue to be strenuous and the heartache is real in every moment.

Kameko and her family have a tremendous journey ahead of them as they learn a new normal and with different vision of how to navigate the world.

We ask first for prayers and the continued support for Kameko and her family.

As a family we are humbled by the abundance of love, encouragement and support from our community that we have called home our entire lives. It is this compassion that continues to sustain us all. We have been inspired to open this route of financial support for members of the community that are willing to take part in Kameko's recovery.

It is still early to fully asses the exact needs and expenses at this time that the family will need to transition.  The implications of this crisis on Kameko and her family members will have a significant impact on the family for years to come. We recognize that many would be honored to help and your generous support will ease the burden on the family and help with any unexpected costs while on this journey to recovery.

To all of you we say Thank You.

We welcome everyone to share positve and comforting words for Kameko and her family during this healing process.
