Kamdyn's Journey: A Mother's Plea for Help

Donation protected
UPDATE: We’re now on a feeding tube, hoping this gives him the nutrients he needs for proper weight gain, and they are doing an UPPER GI test come Tuesday.

My son Kamdyn is 25 days old, but since birth, we’ve been having feeding problems where he wouldn’t gain any weight no matter what we tried. He was born 6lb 12oz but currently weighs 6lbs 2oz. He is considered failure to thrive because he can’t keep any feedings down due to severe acid reflux plus what’s going on stomach-wise too. He was originally diagnosed with Pyloric Stenosis, and we were going to Macon for emergency surgery. However, upon arrival, they “claimed” it was a misdiagnosis and that his scans were normal. I definitely felt like something was wrong, so they admitted us into the hospital to try and figure out what it was. A couple of hours went by, and they were quick to rule it to be our fault for “overfeeding” my sweet boy. So, mama bear instincts definitely kicked in because I knew for a fact that it wasn’t the case, and I requested another test. They did an UPPER GI test and watched him actively eating. They saw he had “Pyloric Spasms,” so basically, he doesn’t have a full blockage yet, but his pyloric muscle is contracting so much that it’s not allowing his stomach to empty like it should.

At that point, I felt like I should request a transfer to CHOA. We got to CHOA, and there’s a 100% difference in how they’re treating my Kam. They’re listening to both mine and dad’s concerns. They’re trying to figure out what’s causing the pyloric muscle to spasm like it is because, at this point, Kamdyn is losing more weight every day, and he is now considered “failure to thrive” due to not being able to keep down his feedings because of this muscle acting out. So, we’re gonna try an even more hypoallergenic formula, and if that doesn’t work, we have no choice but to tube feed Kam until he outgrows this problem because surgery is an option but definitely a last resort!

I started this GoFundMe to help out with bills because while being here, I cannot afford to work, and I have no income during this time. I’m already worrying and stressed here fighting for answers. I really would appreciate if anyone could donate so I’m not stressing about what’s next at home with not having the money to pay my bills. If you can’t donate, please just say a prayer for him and my family. Thank you and God bless.

What is pyloric stenosis?
A condition in which the opening between the stomach and small intestine thickens and causes a blockage.

What is pyloric spasms?
A condition where the pyloric muscle causes delayed gastric emptying and, in some cases, vomiting. Pylorospasm can mimic pyloric stenosis.

EVERYONE PLEASE PLEASE PRAY FOR MY SWEET LOVING BABY BOY!!! He needs some relief from this pain he is in. I need God to show out for my son and heal him so please pray.. thank you
