Kamber's Care Fund

Hi,

My name is Dr. Dana Mayo. My dear friend's newborn baby girl, Kamber, was re-admitted to the hospital at only 2 days old due to hypoglycemia that ultimately did not respond to typical first-line treatments. She was found to have hyperinsulinism causing her low blood sugars and she was having seizures that were difficult to control. Kamber had to be life-flighted from Macon, Georgia to Fort Worth, Texas to a specialty hospital for further treatment. She will be there with her family until the team of physicians have more of an understanding of what is causing her insulin levels to be so high and a game plan for how to best treat her illness. This will be a long road.
