Early Sunday morning Kamari Strayhorn passed away at 17 years old tragically along with 4 other boys in a single vehicle crash on Capital Boulevard. Kamari was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. His family and loved ones are devastated and completely shattered by this loss. Kamari was a funny, outgoing, amazing soul that the Raleigh community will continue to mourn. All 5 teens futures were cut short and will be deeply missed.
Kamari was the oldest boy of his 9 siblings; Trinity- 22 Skilar-20, Harmonee- 19, Kameron- 16, Bre’Lynn- 13, Sandra- 11, Kethan- 9, & Kaden- 8. Kamari’s brothers and sisters are left with a unexplainable void for their big brother.
Kamari’s mother, Kourtney Strayhorn who’s behalf I created this page for is my best friend but more like the big sister I wish I had. My heart breaks for her & Her children during this difficult time. No parent should have to plan their child’s funeral.
Kourtney is a single parent and the sole provider for her family. . & amazes me how she does it all.
With all of the emotional pain and stress that a death brings, it also brings financial burdens. We are trying to raise money for Kourtney and her surviving children to help with any costs that will incur and to help wherever needed. As a community, we want to ease any stress on the family caused by outstanding costs of the funeral and what comes afterwards.
It is in these times of loss and sadness when you see people coming together to help one another make it through, to support the people we care for. We are thankful for any support you may be able to provide. We also encourage everyone to keep their family in their thoughts and prayers.
