ISAIAH 41:10 FEAR NOT; FOR I AM WITH THEE; BE NOT DISMAYED; FOR I AM THY GOD; I  WILL STRENGTHEN THEE; YEA, I WILL HELP THEE; YEA I WILL UPHOLD THEE WITH THE RIGHT HAND OF MY RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Chris and MaryKatherine Hayden never imagined that their second pregnancy would be as normal as could be - their only concern they had was a chance that MaryKatherine would suffer from preeclampsia in the later months.

Nothing prepared them for the news they received at MK's 20 week ultrasound.  They were told that little Kallie Grace had a cleft lip and palet ~
FEAR NOT, FOR I AM WITH THEE; they knew that this was no surprise to God and they also had the assurance from their doctors that Kallie's future surgeries would fix the problems that a cleft lip & palet would cause.  This wasn't the end of the story for little Kallie Grace and this family.  At their next appointment they were told that Kallie also had a heart defect, and at this time they were sent to the University of Virginia to be further evaluated.

After meeting with the cardiologists at UVA, Kallie was diagnosed with tetralogy of fallot.  They advised MaryKatherine and Chris that they would send them home but wanted Kallie's delivery to be at UVA to determine the severity of the heart defect and evaluate her after birth for upcoming surgeries.  Before long, MK's bloodpressure again showed signs of preeclampsia ~ from there, they were up at UVA and Kallie Grace was born on February 11, 2017 ~ 32 weeks and weighed 3.2 lbs.  After her birth, more genetic testing was done to see the extent of her heart condition ~  her final diganosis was 22q deletion syndrome - tetrology of fallot with pulmonary atresia and MAPCA's.
I WILL STRENGTHEN THEE; YA, I WILL HELP THEE;

After her birth Kallie surprised everyone with her determination and strength - MaryKatherine never leaving her side - Chris continued working his full time job on 3rd shift and and then would make the drive up to UVA for the weekends.   When they started staying in the Ronald McDonald house - Paisley was able to come up and meet her little sister in person.  At this time Angie (MK's mother) was also able to visit and stay - this allowed MK to have some quiet times with Paisley.  At this time other family members and friends were able to come and visit also.

Finally, they were able to come home and wait for Kallie to get a bit older and gain some weight before the next step of this journey would begin.  She came home with all of her equipment to watch her oxygen sats and feedings, all of which MaryKatherine and Chris were taught to monitor while up at UVA.  Since they've been home Kallie has gained weight and with only a few scares and trips to the ER and a couple to UVA she has done remarkable.
I WILL UPHOLD THEE WITH THE RIGHT HAND OF MY RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Most recently there was more news regarding Kallie's upcoming surgeries.  After many consultations with the UVA cardiolgy team, they have decided that the severity of Kallie's condition and the extensive surgery she will need, they have advised that they would rather see another facility perform her surgery.  MaryKatherine and Chris were given options and have decided after much prayer that they would go with the facility that has a 98% success rate for this type of surgery.  This facility is Stanford University Medical Center in California.  There isn't anything we wouldn't do for our children and MaryKatherine and Chris are no different than any of us.

Plans are now in the making and Kallie is undergoing many tests ~ and the results are being sent to California. MK and Chris must start getting things together.  They know that the Lord has all this under control and He will guide them and be with them throughout this journey.  Their faith is strong and they trust ~ their family is a great support ~ they covet your prayers and any help you are able to give would be greatly appreciated. . . . FOR HE HATH SAID, I WILL NEVER LEAVE THEE; NOR FORSAKE THEE.  HEBREWS 13:5
