I am heartbroken to share that my goddaughter, Kallie Breeze Bligen, passed away in a tragic drowning accident on October 3, 2025. Kallie was a 5 years old, nonverbal autistic child, she loved the water and spending time with her siblings.
On that day, Kallie wandered, otherwise known as elopement for children with autism spectrum disorder, from her home and was found in the lake behind the house. Her father pulled her out, and her parents immediately administered CPR, but despite their efforts, Kallie passed on the way to the hospital.
Her family now faces unimaginable grief and unexpected financial burdens. Kallie’s vibrant personality touched everyone who knew her, and the family has always come together to ensure her needs were met.
This GoFundMe is being started for
•funeral and memorial services
• Advocacy for “Kallie’s Law” in Florida, contributing toward safety measures like barriers around residential lakes and governmental support for parents of autistic children at risk of wandering or elopement.
•therapy services to help the family, especially her 8 year old sibling who witnessed everything, through this difficult time.
•to help the family relocate as they can not bare looking at the lake where this occurred on a daily basis
